NeuroKinetic STRETCH Therapy

STRETCH Kinetics Studio is the only place in Atlanta to experience NeuroKinetic STRETCH Therapy (NKST), a system that combines customized STRETCH Therapy with Manual & Movement Therapies; focusing on the Myofascial, Neurologic & Joint Systems.  As research on how the body moves & functions increases, it’s undeniable that decreased joint space & restrictions in the myofascial systems lead to joint disease, decreased blood flow & impaired movement patterns; all of which result in pain & dysfunction. Because the body is a complicated system, requiring extensive training & education to understate, SK Studios only employs Licensed Therapists

NKST focuses on decreasing restrictions in the muscle, fascia & joint capsule leading to improved flexibility, strength & athletic performance, as well as reduced pain.  Unlike traditional static stretching that attempts to isolate & stretch specific muscles, NKST creates lasting change & dramatically improves your flexibility by decompressing your joints & releasing restricted muscle & fascia.  Our Licensed Therapists have extensive training, certification & experience in Functional Range Conditioning, Fascial Stretch Therapy™, Physical Therapy &/or Massage Therapy, Pilates, & Yoga & incorporate any or all of these into your STRETCH experience.

Fascia is an amazing part of the human body that most people don't even know exists.  It is a web of connective tissue that permeates & envelops all structures of the body, essentially connecting them all together.  It extends from head to toe, front to back, inside to outside without interruption & is the most influential factor affecting your flexibility. Fascia is like a big body suit we wear that dives into every recess of our body.  Any restrictions in our body suit impairs our posture & movement resulting in dysfunction & pain.  The Licensed Therapists at STRETCH Kinetics Studio in Atlanta are specifically trained in how to help decrease these restrictions as well as restrictions in muscle & joint capsule.

NeuroKinetic STRETCH Therapy sessions are performed in a private room, on a comfortable table equipped with straps that stabilize the parts of the body not being worked on.  Working closely with the feedback from your body, your Therapist eases you into a gradual series of gentle, but deep stretching movements. The experience is relaxing & pain-free.  Each customized session is aimed at helping you achieve your goals by unlocking your flexibility potential & helping with your overall mobility.  As needed, your therapist may incorporate MANUAL Therapy as well as Dynamic STRETCHES, Functional Range Conditioning (FRC), pilates or yoga in order to enhance your STRETCH Kinetics experience.

Your fascia reacts to all stress – physical, mental and emotional – by tightening & stiffening. Since fascia covers everything from all of your organs to the circulatory system to the brain & nervous system to the musculoskeletal system and more, your whole body is at risk to react to stress by tightening & stiffening. Aging of the body, mind & spirit accelerates as function decreases & quality of life deteriorates when the fascia of the body is left unattended. When your fascia is left unattended to, aging of the body, mind & spirit accelerates, function decreases & quality of life deteriorates

Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy is recognized as one of the oldest methods of healing, with references in medical texts nearly 4,000 years old.  It is defined as manual manipulation of soft body tissues (muscle, fascia, tendons and ligaments) to enhance a person’s health & well-being. It helps to reduce stress & anxiety, relax muscles, rehabilitate injuries, reduce pain, & promote overall health and wellness.  Massage therapy can be experienced on its own or combined with a STRETCH.  SK's Massage Therapists have additional training in Physical Therapy & TPI Certification.

STRETCH Kinetics Studio specializes in the following types of Massage Therapy:

Neuromuscular Therapy Massage
Neuromuscular Therapy is a form of soft tissue manipulation that aims at treating underlying causes of chronic pain involving the muscular system. This medically-oriented form of massage addresses trigger points (tender muscles points), circulation, nerve compression, postural issues, & biomechanical problems that can be caused by repetitive movement injuries.

Deep Tissue Massage / Therapeutic Massage
Deep Tissue Massage is best for giving attention to certain painful, stiff "trouble spots" in your body. The Massage Therapist uses slow, deliberate strokes that focus pressure on layers of muscles, tendons, or other tissues deep under your skin. Though less rhythmic than other types of massage, deep tissue massage can be quite therapeutic; relieving chronic patterns of tension & helping with muscle injuries, such as back pain.

Sports Massage
Developed to help with muscle systems used for a particular sport, a Sports Massage uses a variety of approaches to help athletes in training before, during, or after sports events. This type of massage helps promote flexibility & helps prevent injuries. It also helps with muscle strains, aiding healing after a sports injury.  SK's Massage Therapists will work closely with you in order to develop a plan that will help you achieve optimal results on the field, court, or green.

Prenatal Massage
During pregnancy, your body goes through many changes. A Prenatal Massage can help with these changes by reducing stress & relieving muscle and joint pain; especially low back and hip pain. Massage may be particularly helpful during a time when medication & other medical options may be more limited. Using specially designed massage pillows, the Massage Therapist will help get you into a comfortable position to enhance the benefits and enjoyment of your massage.

At STRETCH Kinetics there is no need to choose one type of massage.  Our Therapists can incorporate multiple techniques into your session depending on your goals & needs.

Massage prices:  60 minutes - $95.       90 minutes  - $140.       120 minutes - $190.

Prenatal Massages: 60 minutes - $110.       90 minutes - $165.
